Special Issue Introduction
Research on the genetics and epigenetics of complex diseases has been a vibrant area since the launch of the Human Genome Project at the beginning of the 21st century. Advances in high-throughput technologies have equipped the research community with tools that can interrogate genetic and epigenetic players in complex diseases and traits in unprecedented detail. With the availability of innovative techniques during the last two decades, we have witnessed explosive progress in understanding the genetics and epigenetics of complex diseases. In this special issue of “Genetics and Epigenetics of Complex Human Diseases”, we would like to invite fellows around the world to share your new results, views, comments, and perspectives on the general topic of human complex diseases, including but not limited to cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Although all basic research and clinical papers are welcome, we are particularly interested in publishing research articles, short communications, technical notes, review, and perspective papers that have a component of translational potential and clinical implementation.
